Position: Business Analyst Location: Bangalore Job profile: Derrick Petroleum Services is a research and consulting firm and a publisher of industry databases for the Oil and Gas industry. Derrick is looking for Business Analysts to be part of a team that serves one of Europe’s largest independent Oil and Gas focused consulting firms. Each of the analysts will be responsible for a set of Exploration and Production companies. For their assigned companies, the analysts will need to first develop a base understanding of the company’s projects – which are the key producing fields and what will be their expected future production profiles; which are the largest projects currently under development and how does the company plan on getting these to production (capex, development plans); and which are the areas of focus from an exploration point of view. Once the base understanding has been developed, the analysts will be responsible for tracking these companies on an ongoing basis. The tracking activity is similar to what stock analysts do, except that the focus here is on bottom-up production profiling, rather than on financial analysis and multiples. The ideal candidate should be extremely strong in structured problem solving. 1 to 2 years experience in data analysis related roles (engineering analysis or business analysis) will be beneficial. Specific knowledge of the energy industry is not essential as the candidates will be provided guidance by senior staff having extensive industry experience. This role will appeal to those who enjoy working hands-on to solve complex business problems using large data sets, structured thinking and analysis. Limited overseas travel (3-4 weeks per year) is expected. Mail your resumes to sudhakar.c@ derrickpetroleum.comand mention Job posting on iitjobs.in as the subject of your mail |
