Project Overview: Project is development of Software defined Radio handset. The SDR-enabled satellite-terrestrial handsets will operate with multiple cellular and satellite-based communications technologies including GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA, HSUPA and GMR1-2G/3G.

SDR mobile platform, called XMM SDR 200, comprises one baseband device, the X-Gold SDR 20 and one RF transceiver. The X-Gold SDR 20 includes power management and enables satellite-terrestrial terminals in a small form factor comparable to today’s cellular-only mobile phones. HSC has been involved since the feasibility phase of the project for integrating the GMR1-3G mobile satellite technology into the SDR platform and will be actively involved in the complete design and development of the Access Stratum and Physical Layer to enable satellite connectivity in the SDR platform.

The Project aims at implementation of the complete Access Stratum and the Physical Layer based on the GMR-1 3G specifications on SDR20 platform. The scope includes design, development and porting the baseband modules onto SIMD, development of L1 state machine layer and algorithm development. Also RF interface will be in the scope of Project. The scope also includes the integration of AS and PHY on SDR20 platform and to participate in the integration of the entire SDR. Mandatory

Skills Required: -

Good understanding of Signal processing Algorithms - Good working knowledge of baseband preferably W-CDMA, LTE - Extensive experience in design, development, and integration of Physical Layer for wireless products. - Strong background in embedded software design on Digital Signal Processors - Hands-on experience in implementation of real-time software - Strong Assembly and C development skills - Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation - Advantage to have experience with Motorola/ Freescale DSPs and Texas Instruments. - Good working knowledge on optimization.

Desired Skills Required (Preferred but not mandatory): - Have worked on the basestation or terminal development and Integration - Has experience of framework development - Good communication skills - Worked onsite and lead the team technically
