Data/Reporting Analyst

About the role: Dell Global Analytics (DGA) is a team of 200 analysts working for all analytical needs of Dell Inc. DGA is a part of Dell Inc, and is located out of Bangalore. DGA is looking for smart and intellectually strong candidates for the various roles in its Sales & Marketing Analytics team. This team works on various initiatives to ensure a strong ROI on every $ spent by Dell towards its marketing, using statistical, predictive, reporting & automation abilities. Mentioned below are the role characteristics of a Data/Reporting analyst role.

Key Responsibilities: • Build and modify databases/reports, process data and identify and automate repetitive processes

• Develop new reports and maintain existing reporting processes

• Drive 100% accuracy and timeliness in all the reporting activities

• Build audit mechanism to sustain the process

• Understand the context of the report/data and business decisions made using it

• Drive value/insights to the reports to make it more meaningful to the business

• Drive ad-hoc analysis to build business analysis skills

• Build new tools to help aid analysis or solve business problems

Critical Requirements:

• Excellent advanced XL skills – writing and editing macros, OLAP and automation

• Good SQL skills - DTS packages, stored procedures, T-SQL, SSAS/SSIS, database maintenance activities etc. Experience in SQL 2000 or 2005 • Good Aptitude/ Learn ability - inclination/desire to learn new technologies

• Good written communication skills (able to express thoughts/plan of action clearly)

Professional Experience & Technical Skills:

• High degree of proficiency is required in Advanced Excel concepts, including but not limited to pivot tables, macros

• High degree of proficiency in creating decks using MS PowerPoint

• High degree of proficiency on MS SQL skills Educational/ Work experience Requirements

• Graduation in any stream • MBA/M.Sc. would be an added advantage

• 2+ years of relevant analytical experience This would be an Individual contributor role with no management responsibility.
