SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Essential to team make-up • Core Languages: UCSD Pascal, VB, Below Delphi version 5, C# Turbo Pascal Desirable • Other languages: C, C++ • Relevant degree • Membership of a relevant professional organisation • MCAD/MCSD • Proven track record of developer role in a range of successful projects • Experience of Life and Pensions industry • Understanding of workflow solutions • Understanding of document management solutions PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB: • To code, maintain, update and test the application and systems programs of the Classic product suite. • To plan, create and execute unit and component tests using automated test tools where possible • To assist in translating the user requirements and designing a technical solution. • To assist in the production of analysis and design

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • To deliver general and systems programs to department standards ensuring that code produced is well designed, documented, maintainable, reliable, efficient, and supports automated testing. • To assist with the definition of the analysis and design specification. • Design, implement and document system features, frameworks and architectural constructs. • To modify and document program code to correct errors or to enhance a program’s capabilities. • To carry out code reviews of code produced from other Developers within the department. • To create and maintain program documentation. • To test the validity and logic of programs and make amendments as necessary. • To create test plans that prepare for tests and create documentary evidence of testing carried out as required. • To create and maintain automated testing deliverables. • To set up the environment, and perform unit and component testing. • To adhere to the coding, documentation and source control standards set within the department. • To ensure quality in all deliverables. • To assist in translating the requirements into a technical solution. • To document and communicate design models, including the production of technical specifications. • To create and maintain Analysis and Design specifications. • To review Analysis and Design Specifications. • To analyse data requirements. • To prioritise and time manage the workload to ensure that the analysis and development tasks progress within the agreed timescales. • To complete and submit weekly timesheet information within the prescribed timescales. • To liaise closely with other Developers regarding system developments. • To review user documentation for accuracy Regards
