Essential Experience:
 
Essential:
Business knowledge Experience of investment banking in a business analysis function Experience of working alongside front, middle and back office investment banking functions Detailed product knowledge across a variety of front office businesses. Experience at least one of the following Sales Front office Finance and Revenue Reporting Systems Management information Personal attributes Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels across the business and technology
Can work well both individually or in a team by taking a collaborative approach to problem solving and delivery Ability to drive change and influence at all levels Organised, methodical and thorough with a detailed and structured approach to problem solving Enthusiastic about business analysis, but pragmatic and delivery focussed
Desirable: Experience in technical roles in a project cycle i.e. as a developer/ lead or a PM. May have experience of consulting to Financial Services organisations
 
Qualifications:
MBA or BE/ B.Tech / M.Tech /MCA with significant functional exposure.
Desirable:Certifications related to and useful for investment banking domain.
 
Technical Competence:
Essential: Understands the end to end processing cycles in systems and how the interfaces are setup. Solid understanding of the business in which he/she delivered solutions. Understands investment banking fundamentals and products. Ability to translate a business requirement into a functional requirement, within the context of the existing/ proposed system architecture. Has the capability to advise business on the solution options and the implications. Has the ability to apply a structured approach and analysis to business situations.
 
Desirable: Experience in any technology skill sets like .NET or Java.

Responsibilities

Activities:

  • Carrying out appropriate analysis of business requirements and converting these to functional requirements and transforming these into technical specifications. The requirements will include both functional and non functional requirements. Actively liaising with business users/ counterparts in business locations/ global change teams, support and development teams, as and when required.
  •  

  • Ability to work in global delivery models, where the expectation is to be flexible and adapt as suitable to the project either taking complete ownership or work in collaboration to ensure a successful delivery.
  •  

     

  • Work with the testing teams to define the test strategy including detailed test cases, test plans, entry/exit criteria, specifying and detailing suitable training material along with creation of user guides (as appropriate). Be the subject matter expert on the requirements.
  •  

     

  • Contributing to the knowledge management process/framework across different functions within RBS
  •  

     

  • Providing a platform for using/evaluating methodologies and tools for knowledge management and business/systems analysis
  •  

 
Key deliverables:
 

  • Functional requirements and technical specifications documents for the allocated work streams.
  •  

  • Effective business engagement and appropriate signoff on the requirements.
  •  

     

  • Ensure sufficient system and process documentation is produced to meet audit requirements and ensure systems are documented to a supportable level.
  •  

     

  • Appropriate test cases/ scenarios must be covered under the test strategy with proper entry/ exit criteria.
  •  

     

  • Formal accountability and reporting to the global stakeholders and reporting to the management team in TSI.
  •  

     

  • Be a subject matter expert on the requirements and ensure continuous flow of information to facilitate an excellent pace of development, in short be an offshore representation of the end users.
  •  

     

  • Active engagement with architecture team and infrastructure teams to drive an appropriate solution.
  •  

     

  • Participate in recruitment activity – define new skill requirements and assess potential candidate fit.
  •  

     

  • Build top notch domain capability and delivery focus in the team. Focus on building deep domain specific knowledge in the team.

  • Participate in cross business line activities to add value to the organisation.
