: FACTORY MANAGER (leve2 , VP level)

Location : Bangalore  

 

A. Key purpose of the job

 

1) To maximize contribution to BU profitability through efficient manufacturing according to all manufacturing, quality, cost & process standards & improvement drives.

2) To maximize the contribution to BU`s profitability by aligning BU objectives as per Group / BU Head`s business plan and through efficient manufacturing processes as per group norm (Quality, cost and process standards, etc)

 

B. Profile of the job holder

 

1) Around 15 years of relevant experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing industry of which 5 years should be in management position with proven results

2) Bachelor of Engineering or a Post graduation in Management

 

C. key responsibilities

 

1) Coordinate with the  group division for incorporating new technology and support continuous improvements

2) Develop Scorecard parameters at factory level, monitor and report on implementation/performance and ensure clear understanding to all the team members.

3) Enhance customer focus, create a positive work climate, team spirit, communicate business results, receive feedback throughout the factory and enforce and strengthen internal / external communication

4) Ensure an effective process for the development of people's skills and competences across all functions within the factory.

 

5) Ensure and adhere to customer requirements, legal, group norms, environment health & safety requirements (e.g. QS 9000 conformance, ISO/TS conformance, participation in customer audits at any given point.)

6) Ensure efficient cost effective processes, which contribute to customer satisfaction based on understanding profitability factors, productivity systems, TVA, required service levels etc.

7) Have continuous interactions with all sales units to monitor sales development and negotiate internal transfer sales prices.

8) Initiate various continuous improvement activities across all factory functions for profit, quality and customer service

9) Integrate different functions of factory and help resolve issues within the team, between the team and other functions.

10) Maintain harmonious industrial relations with workforce, local unions, external authorities and the local community. Represent SKF for local negotiations, wage negotiation & settlement.

11) Participate in the management team of the BU and contribute to BU strategy development

12) Safeguard manufacturing performance and future activity for the factory through active support/development of product & manufacturing processes. Recommend and monitor investment needs and be updated on product knowledge.
