Job Description – 

Candidate will be responsible for the operations of SQL Server 2005 and 2008 platform in the following manner:
· Install and configure SQL instances
· Implement databases and application changes in accordance with change management process, timelines and project costs.
· Participate in code testing activities
· Identify, investigate and resolve assigned incidents documented as a database or BI problem
· Responsible for reviewing platform performance and remediating environmental bottlenecks which are present
· Recommend opportunities for improving performance, maintenance tasks and software upgrades
· Responsible for the backup and recovery of all databases per defined schedule and/or recovery plan
· Ensure use of database, aligns with set security guidelines surrounding access, data authorization and audits
· Develop SQL Server automation and reporting
· Monitor and review service related reports relevant to SQL server uptime, changes, performance, tuning, maintenance, etc.
· Strong familiarity with SQL Server best practices and industry recommendations
· Work with other internal IT groups surrounding architectural design and design implementation On-call support rotation
· While on support rotation, manage weekly installs of code through change cycle, development to production environments

· Minimum of BE or BS Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology, MIS; Industry certifications will be of consideration
· 3-5 years of database experience, preferably with Microsoft SQL Server and/or Sybase ASE and IQ
· Demonstrated experience utilizing C# .Net , Java, ASP.Net, HTML/XML, JavaScript, IIS, .Net Architecture, Object-Oriented design
· Demonstrated experience utilizing Relational Databases, SQL stored procedures.
· A strong understanding of VMW are architecture as it relates to SQL Server setup and optimization
· Ability to effectively tune database servers to achieve optimum performance and response times
· Capable of developing methodology for the ongoing assessment of database performance and the identification of problem areas.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively, independently, as well as in a team environment, to develop creative solutions to complex issues
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate with various levels of management.
· Ability to effectively influence and manage change with strong Collaboration skills.
· Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
· Ability to write technical documentation for reference

Preferred Skills / Qualifications
· Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, Eclipse, Subversion/CVS and NUnit/JUnit are a plus.
· Experience working with Microsoft Analysis Services, Reporting Services and SQL DTS / Integration Services
